Sheriff Arpaio Won’t Face Contempt Case for Withholding Hard Drives
Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s latest court appearance was regarding his refusal to hand over 50 hard drives from a secret investigation. A U.S District judge ruled Tuesday that he will not face contempt of court charges in this case. While this count of contempt is behind Arpaio, he has more court dates ahead of him. He faces another trial this spring on a separate contempt count for extending immigration patrols 17 months after a judge ordered for them to stop. For best local coverage, visit KTAR.
Arizona Animal Shelter Rescues 25 Puppy Mill Dogs from Missouri
Last night, 25 dogs arrived at the Arizona Animal Welfare League all the way from Missouri. These dogs were rescued from a puppy mill where they were used for breeding until they could no longer do so. Often times dogs in puppy mills are euthanized after they are no longer able to breed- but thanks to a collaboration with National Mill Dog Rescue and AAWL these dogs will receive complete medical care and hopefully find their forever homes. All dogs will be up for adoption after being spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.
