Flagstaff Breaks Christmas Eve Record for Snowfall
While the Valley didn’t have a white Christmas, northern Arizona got fresh snow fall on Christmas eve. In fact, Flagstaff broke a Christmas Eve record for snowfall. The National Weather Service reported a little more than 10 inches, breaking the previous record set in 1914 when Flagstaff received four inches on that day. Prescott also received about eight inches of snow from the same storm. For the best local coverage of this story, check out KTAR.
Phoenix Zoo Receives Christmas Tree Donation
Living rooms and churches aren’t the only place you can find Christmas trees this year, you can also find them at the Phoenix Zoo. Tim Mitchell’s Christmas Tree Lot donated almost 50 trees to zoo this year. The trees are a part of an enrichment program that allows the animals to eat or play with as they see fit. Usually they get various trimmings from around the zoo, but this year they got this holiday surprise. For the best local coverage of this story, check out KJZZ.
