SRP Customers Will See Slight Decrease in Energy Billing 2017
Salt River Project customers will save some money in the coming months- but not too much money. The SRP Board of Directors have approved a decrease in electricity prices for its more than 1 million customers. This 10-month temporary decrease- starting with the January 2017 billing cycle- will save an average residential customer just under a dollar per month during the winter billing months and about $3 when the summer billing season begins in May. Although this may not save the average household that much- total savings accumulate to $40 million. The decrease reflects SRP’s ability to meet its sustainable goals at a lower cost to its customers.
Maricopa County Approves Program to Improve Air Quality
Maricopa County officials approved a program intended to better the valley’s air quality during the winter months. For free they’re offering 200 pollution-reducing devices, or natural gas log sets, for residential fireplaces. If you’re interested in receiving either of these offers, you should know that the boundaries of the program range from Baseline Road to Northern Avenue and 59th Avenue to 16th Street.
