PHOENIX (STN) – The show that is redefining how local media plays a role in improving communities will add two new series this season expanding and continuing its mission to address and help solve systemic issues facing the Phoenix region.
For season three of ‘It Happens at STN,’ STN is collaborating with Mercy Care to launch a new segment called ‘The Wellness Collective,’ and a second new segment, ‘Leading in the Moment,’ which is a continuation of the partnership with UMOM.
“Leading in the moment is what STN has been doing from the beginning of ‘It Happens at STN,’” said STN Chief Production Officer Jody Isaac. “I can’t think of a better way than to make it a pillar segment in the show with UMOM being the driving force behind the message.”
During “Leading in the Moment,” the leadership team from UMOM will take a deep dive into which solutions are having great impact and how good leadership can make organizations and communities better.
‘Leading in the Moment; will kick off season three of ‘It Happens at STN’ in the time slot when ‘Community Collaborative’ appeared in the show for the first two seasons.
“The Community Collaborative was STN’s original community action series,” said STN CEO Eric Sperling. “It was me, Robin Reed, and Monica Villalobos who brought the series to life, but Robin was the driving force. With his passing, ‘The Community Collaborative’ would never be the same, so the decision was made to weave the goals of the series as well as Robin’s mission for unity, progress, and prosperity into the framework and fabric of the other shows and segments featured during an ‘It Happens at STN’ episode.”
The second addition to the show for season three, ‘The Wellness Collective,’ brings the leadership team from Mercy Care and guests to the table for in-depth discussions on women’s healthcare, including an important look at maternal morbidity rates and what can be done to improve them, which will be featured in the season premiere.
Other discussion topics for the season-long run of ‘The Wellness Collective’ include racial disparities in health care, social determinants of health, and how more buy-in from corporate and nonprofit partners can improve outcomes.
Season three of ‘It Happens at STN’ debuts in September, with a new episode dropping monthly from September through December and February through July.
