PHOENIX (STN) – Even before the doors opened for the season premiere last September, the fourth season of ‘It Happens at STN’ was dubbed the “Season of Strength.” With just one episode remaining, it is clear the Valley’s one-of-a-kind local media experience fulfilled that mission.

“Season 4 proved Arizona is full of leaders willing to take enormous challenges head-on, tap into their inner strength, and rally the community around real solutions,” said STN Founder and CEO Eric Sperling. “That’s the kind of leadership that moves a region forward.”

Over the course of the nine episodes of season four so far, ‘It Happens at STN’ continued evolving beyond a traditional talk show format, becoming a live forum where nonprofit leaders, educators, business executives, healthcare innovators, and community changemakers came together to confront Arizona’s biggest challenges while building meaningful connections.

“One of our greatest joys—and a clear sign our partners are resonating with the audience—is the connection-building that happens during the post-show reception,” said STN Director of Operations Haily Frances. “We regularly see nonprofits connecting with peer organizations, corporate funders, and foundations in real time. Those moments reflect the true impact of the experience.”

Homelessness, housing insecurity, food insecurity, workforce development, education, healthcare access, sustainability, and leadership remained recurring themes throughout the season. Conversations featuring organizations like UMOM, Keys to Change, CASS, Circle the City, Mercy Care, Ability360, and Arizona Pet Project highlighted the growing pressure facing nonprofits while showcasing the creativity and collaboration driving progress across the Valley.

“Season 4 has become the signature season of the series,” Chief Production Officer Jody Isaac said. “The STN team has been laser-focused on rallying the community to show up for one another and helping our partners become part of this Season of Strength. Watching the impact unfold in real time inside our studio has been incredible.”

The season also emphasized the importance of partnerships. Leaders from Arizona Financial Credit Union, Bank of America, Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona, the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, and the University of Phoenix explored how businesses are moving beyond traditional philanthropy to provide infrastructure, workforce development, innovation, and long-term investment in the community.

At the same time, the season focused heavily on preparing Arizona for the future. Conversations surrounding artificial intelligence, sustainability, education reform, and emerging workforce needs reinforced the idea that Arizona’s challenges will require new thinking, stronger partnerships, and leaders willing to adapt quickly.

“The purpose and urgency our partners brought to the stage were inspiring,” STN Chief Communication Officer Kathy Clark said. “Faced with enormous challenges, they met the moment and delivered real solutions for the community.”

Season 4 also never lost sight of the human side of those conversations. Stories from nonprofit clients, frontline workers, students, healthcare leaders, and community advocates grounded every episode in lived experience and reminded audiences that behind every statistic is a person trying to build a better future.

Through segments like ‘Leading in the Moment,’ ‘The Wellness Collective,’ and ‘McQuaid Mission,’ the season reinforced a message that became impossible to ignore: Arizona’s strongest solutions happen when organizations stop working in silos and start working together.

With one final episode still to come, Season 4 has already proven why ‘It Happens at STN’ continues redefining what local media can look like when storytelling, collaboration, and community action share the same stage.

“There’s no ceiling to what can happen when community partners come together with influence, collaboration, support, and meaningful investment in the nonprofit community,” Isaac concluded.
