PHOENIX (STN) – Change is often seen as daunting, but for OneAZ Credit Union, it has become a catalyst for innovation and connection.
During the Season 3 finale of ‘It Happens at STN,’ OneAZ’s Emily Call and Monica Meyerand shared how embracing change and fostering a growth mindset have helped drive the organization forward.
Reflecting on the past year, Meyerand described a shift in energy throughout the organization. New leadership brought a fresh perspective, prioritizing feedback from over 500 associates to establish a strong strategic foundation.
“There’s a really great buzz around the credit union,” Meyerand explained, emphasizing the excitement bold new ideas have generated among team members and the community alike.
Call shared insights into OneAZ’s recent rebrand, a move driven by momentum rather than necessity. Rather than simply updating visuals, the rebrand was about embodying a future-focused vision and differentiating OneAZ in the traditionally conservative banking industry.
“We’re on a mission to create a brand that people love and relate to,” Call said.
How OneAZ turns change into community impact:
The transformation started internally, focusing on aligning employees with the organization’s purpose so every associate feels like a brand ambassador.
Both leaders stressed the importance of innovation and authenticity. Meyerand encouraged leaders to constantly ask, “How does each step forward drive future growth for yourself and the organization?”
Call’s advice was equally bold: “Dare to be different. Find what makes you unique and share it fearlessly with the world.”
Their combined message underscored that meaningful change isn’t just about aesthetics or slogans; it’s about building a culture that embraces new ideas and empowers people to be their authentic selves. This approach strengthens the bond between an organization and the community it serves.
